The ‘Music Without Boundaries’ group began in May 2011 as a way to bring local and regional musical talents to the Lake Michigan coastal towns of Manitowoc and Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Our goal is to showcase homegrown, original music in unique settings; therefore we host live music in a variety of venues such as galleries, brewpubs, and co-ops. These venues provide an intimate setting for the band and audience. There has been a history of wonderful, listening audiences, which past performers have really enjoyed.
If you're an artist/band looking to build an audience in the Manitowoc/Two Rivers area, you've come to the right place. Built from the days of Stumpjack Coffee Company, the music has moved on and become the Music Without Boundaries Concert Series. With years of past shows we have a healthy amount of artists/bands that have a solid following in the area that we love bringing back on a regular basis. We are also very interested in suggestions for new-to-us bands. If you are a artist that has performed for us in the past, please spread the word about our series to you musician friends and if you're an artist that has heard about us, please contact us and we'll look into setting something up.
Who Are We?
Music Without Boundaries is organized by Kevin Harris, a music-lovin’ individual who has been travling around the U.S. seeing concerts for years. He has setteled in Manitowoc and his intention with the Music Without Boundaries series is to bring quality, original music to Manitowoc and the other lakeshore communities. He happily works with musicians that are local, as well as regional acts.
“Our primary venue to host music at is Blkbx Theater at Plant 3, on Franklin Street in Manitowoc; but we have been fortunate enough to work with a slew of different venues in the area. It’s quite possible that you have never heard of some of the artists on our lineup, and that is awesome! Why? Discovering new-to-you music can be exciting! Perhaps you walk away from a show a new fan! We believe strongly in the hard-working, talented folks that grace our stages. We hope you can join us at one of our many events in the area.”
Putting on shows is not free. There is the cost of advertising, travel to hang up posters, and countless other expenses. Every penny for such costs comes out of our own pockets, and through the gracious donations of people like you! Any cover fee we charge goes straight to the musicians and to helping our humble little series grow! We deeply appreciate any donation.
